Job Summary:
The counsellor provides emotional and psychological support to clients, helping them to navigate various life challenges, such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and more. The counsellor listens to clients’ concerns, offers advice, and helps develop coping strategies to improve their mental and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Assessment: Conduct initial assessments of clients to understand their emotional, mental, and social issues.
Counselling Sessions: Provide one-on-one or group counselling sessions to clients, helping them explore their feelings and thoughts.
Therapeutic Techniques: Use a range of therapeutic techniques and approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), talk therapy, or other appropriate methods.
Goal Setting: Work with clients to set realistic and achievable goals for personal development and recovery.
Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support in crisis situations, helping clients to stabilize and cope with urgent issues.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions, progress, and treatment plans.
Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals, such as psychologists, social workers, and healthcare providers, to provide comprehensive care.
Education and Workshops: Conduct workshops and seminars to educate clients on mental health topics and provide coping strategies.
Follow-up: Monitor and follow up on client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Ethical Practice: Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain professional boundaries at all times.
Required Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
Certification/Licensure: Relevant state or national certification/licensure to practice as a counsellor.
Experience: Prior experience in counselling or a related field is often required.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy and active listening.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Knowledge of various counselling techniques and therapeutic approaches.
