Mathematics Teacher
Job Description
The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective mathematics instruction to students, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The teacher will create lesson plans aligned with the curriculum, assess student performance, and provide individualized support to ensure student success in mathematics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Instruction
Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards.
Teach mathematical concepts, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics (depending on grade level).
Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
Foster an interactive and student-centered learning environment.
Integrate technology and real-world applications into lessons.
2. Student Assessment & Support
Assess student progress through tests, quizzes, assignments, and projects.
Provide timely feedback and support to help students improve.
Identify students who need extra help and provide additional instruction or resources.
Prepare students for standardized tests and examinations.
3. Classroom Management
Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment.
Encourage student participation and engagement.
Enforce school rules and promote good behavior.
4. Curriculum Development & Collaboration
Work with colleagues to develop and refine the mathematics curriculum.
Participate in professional development workshops and training.
Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student success.
5. Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
Prepare reports and communicate with parents/guardians about student progress.
Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
