Computer Science Teacher
Job Description
The Computer Science Teacher will be responsible for instructing students in computer science, programming, and digital literacy. The teacher will develop lesson plans, assess student progress, and engage students in hands-on projects to enhance their understanding of technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Instruction:
Deliver engaging lessons on computer science topics such as programming, algorithms, data structures, networking, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
Teach students how to use various software applications, coding languages (Python, Java, C++, etc.), and web development tools.
Integrate computational thinking and problem-solving skills into lessons.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Curriculum Development:
Develop and update curriculum to align with educational standards and industry trends.
Incorporate project-based learning, coding exercises, and real-world applications.
Prepare students for coding competitions, hackathons, and certifications.
Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
Assess and grade students’ work, providing constructive feedback.
Conduct regular evaluations through quizzes, assignments, and practical projects.
Track student progress and provide additional support where needed.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Establish clear rules and expectations for student behavior.
Promote digital ethics, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible technology usage.
Technology Integration & Lab Management:
Maintain computer labs, troubleshoot minor technical issues, and ensure software is up to date.
Integrate emerging technologies such as robotics, AI, and cloud computing into lessons.
Professional Development & Collaboration:
Stay updated on advancements in computer science and educational technology.
Participate in workshops, seminars, and school meetings.
Collaborate with other teachers to integrate computer science across subjects.
