Job Description
The Social Science Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering engaging lessons that help students understand various social science disciplines. They foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and an appreciation for cultural, political, and historical perspectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning & Instruction:
Develop and implement lesson plans based on the curriculum.
Use innovative teaching methods, including project-based learning and technology integration.
Explain complex social science concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.
Classroom Management:
Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment.
Encourage student participation and facilitate discussions.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Design tests, quizzes, assignments, and projects to assess student understanding.
Provide timely feedback and track student progress.
Student Engagement & Support:
Encourage critical thinking, debate, and independent research.
Provide guidance on academic and personal development.
Collaboration & Professional Development:
Work with other teachers and staff to create interdisciplinary lessons.
Attend professional development workshops and training sessions.
Extracurricular Involvement:
Organize and supervise field trips, model UN conferences, history fairs, or debates.
