Job Description

The career counselor teacher assists students in exploring career opportunities, choosing academic paths that align with their career goals, and developing necessary skills for the workforce. They provide guidance in identifying personal strengths and interests, researching potential careers, and planning for post-secondary education or employment.

Key Responsibilities:

Career Guidance:
Help students assess their strengths, interests, and values to identify potential career paths.
Advise students on academic courses and extracurricular activities to enhance their employability and skills.
Provide information on various careers, including educational requirements, job duties, salary expectations, and growth prospects.

Educational Support:
Assist students in choosing appropriate subjects and courses that align with their career aspirations.
Provide support in navigating college or vocational school applications, including entrance exams, personal statements, and interviews.

Workshops and Seminars:
Organize career exploration workshops, job shadowing opportunities, and guest speaker events with professionals from various industries.
Conduct workshops on resume building, job search strategies, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette.

Individual Counseling:
Offer one-on-one counseling sessions to discuss individual career interests, academic performance, and personal goals.
Help students overcome challenges related to career decisions, stress, or self-doubt.

Job Search Assistance:
Guide students in creating professional resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles.
Assist with internship and job search strategies, including networking and identifying job opportunities.

Collaboration with Educators and Parents:
Work closely with teachers and school administration to ensure students’ academic progress aligns with their career goals.
Communicate with parents to discuss career planning and post-secondary options for their children.

Assessment and Evaluation:
Use various assessment tools and tests to evaluate students’ skills, interests, and personality traits.
Help students interpret results from career aptitude tests and integrate them into their career planning.
