Nursary Teacher
Job Description
Job Purpose:
To create a supportive and engaging environment for young children, fostering their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through play, structured activities, and early learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Delivering Lessons:
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning in areas like language, numeracy, motor skills, and social interaction.
Use a range of resources and activities to support the children’s learning through play.
Child Development:
Observe and assess children’s progress, noting developmental milestones.
Foster children’s emotional well-being by encouraging positive behavior and self-esteem.
Provide support for children’s social and emotional development, helping them to understand and manage their feelings.
Classroom Environment:
Create a safe, stimulating, and welcoming environment that encourages learning and exploration.
Organize the classroom with appropriate educational materials, toys, and activities.
Communication with Parents:
Regularly update parents on their child’s progress and development.
Discuss any concerns or areas for development in a sensitive and professional manner.
Work with parents to create a supportive learning environment at home.
Health and Safety:
Ensure the children’s safety at all times by adhering to nursery policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Follow health, hygiene, and safety regulations, including first aid when necessary.
Team Collaboration:
Work alongside other nursery staff to plan and implement programs.
Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the overall improvement of the nursery environment.
Professional Development:
Stay up to date with early childhood education practices, attending relevant training and workshops.
Follow guidance from education boards and nursery management to align teaching methods with best practices.
