A Mathematics School Teacher is responsible for teaching students the fundamentals and advanced concepts of mathematics, helping them develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for the subject. Below is a detailed job description:
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:

Develop and implement lesson plans that align with school standards and curriculum guidelines.
Design engaging instructional activities and materials to enhance learning.
Instruction and Teaching:

Teach mathematics to students across various grade levels, ranging from basic arithmetic to more advanced topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus.
Use diverse teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, including lectures, discussions, hands-on activities, and technology-based instruction.
Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging student participation and engagement.
Assessment and Evaluation:

Prepare and administer tests, quizzes, and assignments to evaluate student progress.
Provide constructive feedback on student performance and offer additional support to students who are struggling.
Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and behavior.
Classroom Management:

Establish and maintain classroom rules and procedures to create a safe and productive learning environment.
Address disciplinary issues promptly and fairly, in accordance with school policies.
Communication and Collaboration:

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, concerns, and achievements.
Collaborate with other teachers, school staff, and administration to plan and coordinate school activities and initiatives.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and other school-related events.
Professional Development:

Stay current with developments in mathematics education and teaching methods.
Engage in continuous professional development to improve teaching skills and knowledge.
Additional Duties:

Supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as recess or lunch.
Participate in school functions, events, and extracurricular activities as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the school administration.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Certification: State teaching certification in mathematics is required.
Experience: Prior teaching experience is preferred, especially at the relevant grade level.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of mathematics and the ability to teach complex concepts in an understandable way.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
Proficiency in using technology and educational software as part of instruction.
Working Conditions:
