Accountancy Teacher

Job Description

An Accountancy Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality lessons in accounting and finance to students at the secondary or post-secondary level. The role involves preparing lesson plans, teaching fundamental and advanced accounting principles, assessing student progress, and fostering an engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Curriculum Development:
Develop and deliver engaging lessons in financial accounting, management accounting, taxation, auditing, and related subjects.
Create lesson plans, teaching materials, and assignments that align with the curriculum.
Use a variety of instructional techniques to cater to different learning styles.

Assessment & Evaluation:
Prepare and administer quizzes, tests, and examinations to assess student progress.
Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve.
Maintain accurate records of student grades and performance.

Classroom Management & Student Support:
Maintain discipline and ensure a positive learning environment.
Provide guidance and mentorship to students regarding academic and career opportunities.
Support students in developing problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Administrative & Professional Development:
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.
Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching methods and curriculum.
Keep up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and educational policies.

Extracurricular & Additional Responsibilities:
Encourage participation in business-related extracurricular activities such as commerce clubs, competitions, and seminars.
Support students in practical applications of accounting, including projects and case studies.
Assist with school events and other duties as assigned by the administration.
