Physical Education Teacher
Job Description
A Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for developing students’ physical fitness, motor skills, and knowledge of sports and healthy lifestyles. They plan and implement engaging PE lessons that promote teamwork, discipline, and overall well-being while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning & Instruction:
Develop and deliver structured PE lessons that cater to students’ physical abilities and age levels.
Incorporate various sports, exercises, and activities to enhance motor skills, strength, endurance, and coordination.
Teach students about the importance of fitness, nutrition, and healthy habits.
Classroom & Student Management:
Supervise and guide students in physical activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
Establish clear rules and expectations for behavior and sportsmanship.
Adapt lessons to accommodate students with diverse physical abilities and needs.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
Conduct fitness tests and monitor student improvement over time.
Maintain records of student performance and participation.
Safety & Equipment Management:
Ensure all activities are conducted safely, following school policies and safety regulations.
Maintain and organize sports equipment and facilities.
Provide first aid when necessary and report injuries as per school protocol.
Extracurricular Activities & Events:
Organize and coach school sports teams and encourage student participation in inter-school competitions.
Plan sports days, fitness programs, and recreational activities.
Collaborate with other staff members to promote school-wide physical well-being initiatives.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student development.
Communicate with parents about students’ progress and participation in physical activities.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs.
