Job Summary:
The Computer Teacher is responsible for educating students in the fundamentals of computer science, information technology, and digital literacy. This includes teaching basic computer operations, software applications, programming, and the ethical use of technology. The teacher will create lesson plans, deliver lectures, assess student performance, and stay updated on the latest educational technology trends.

Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and adapt to different learning styles.
Instruction: Teach students about computer systems, software, hardware, programming languages, and digital literacy. Use a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and online resources.
Assessment: Evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, projects, and presentations. Provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, orderly, and engaging learning environment. Address disciplinary issues promptly and fairly.
Technology Integration: Incorporate educational technology tools and resources into the classroom to enhance learning and keep students engaged.
Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest developments in computer science education and technology. Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions as required.
Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers, administrators, and IT staff to ensure the effective use of technology across the school.
Support and Guidance: Provide extra help to students who are struggling, and challenge those who are excelling. Advise students on career paths in technology.
Ethical Use of Technology: Teach students about the ethical, legal, and safe use of technology, including internet safety, data privacy, and digital citizenship.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field. A teaching credential or certification is preferred.
Experience: Previous teaching experience is advantageous, especially in a school setting. Experience with educational technology and software is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of computer science concepts and programming languages.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage a classroom and maintain student engagement.
Proficiency in using educational technology tools.
Problem-solving skills and adaptability.
Working Conditions:
Hours: Typically full-time, following the school’s academic calendar.
Environment: Classroom setting with access to computers, software, and other technological resources. May also involve remote teaching depending on circumstances.
