Nursery Teacher
Job Description
A Nursery School Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children (typically aged 3-5) can develop essential social, cognitive, and motor skills. They plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities, foster curiosity, and support early childhood development in alignment with educational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Learning:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons based on early childhood education principles.
Use play-based learning techniques to develop children’s literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
Encourage creativity through arts, music, and storytelling.
Monitor and assess children’s progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
2. Classroom Management & Safety:
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining a clean and organized learning space.
Manage behavior positively, teaching children social skills and conflict resolution.
Follow health and safety regulations, including first aid procedures.
3. Child Development & Well-being:
Support children’s emotional and social development through nurturing interactions.
Identify and address individual learning needs, including special educational requirements.
Foster independence and self-confidence in children through structured activities and routines.
4. Communication & Collaboration:
Maintain open communication with parents regarding children’s progress and well-being.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, assistants, and school staff.
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
5. Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and attendance.
Prepare and organize learning materials and classroom resources.
Follow school policies and curriculum guidelines.
