Job Description

A Career Counsellor in a school setting is responsible for guiding students in choosing academic paths, career options, and personal development opportunities. They provide counseling, conduct assessments, and facilitate career awareness programs to help students make informed decisions about their future.

Key Responsibilities:

Career Guidance & Counseling:
Assist students in understanding their interests, skills, and aptitudes.
Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions.
Provide career exploration resources and tools.

Assessment & Evaluation:
Use psychometric tests, aptitude tests, and other assessment tools.
Analyze student strengths and suggest suitable career paths.

Academic Support & Planning:
Help students choose subject streams (Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.).
Guide students in setting academic and career goals.
Assist in college and university applications, scholarships, and entrance exams.

Career Awareness Programs:
Organize workshops, seminars, and guest lectures by professionals.
Arrange internships, job shadowing, and industry exposure programs.

Parental & Teacher Engagement:
Conduct sessions for parents on career options and student development.
Collaborate with teachers to identify students needing special guidance.

Keeping Up with Industry Trends:
Stay updated on emerging careers, college admission processes, and labor market trends.
Maintain connections with universities, training institutes, and companies.
