Physical Education Teacher

Job Description

A Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing physical activity programs that promote students’ health, fitness, and well-being. They instruct students in sports, exercise, and physical activities while fostering teamwork, discipline, and healthy habits.

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning & Instruction:
Develop and deliver age-appropriate PE lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
Teach students about physical fitness, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Introduce various sports, exercises, and fitness routines to enhance motor skills and coordination.

Student Engagement & Assessment:
Assess students’ physical abilities and track their progress.
Provide constructive feedback to students to improve their physical skills.
Encourage participation and ensure inclusivity for students of all skill levels.

Classroom & Equipment Management:
Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
Ensure proper use, care, and storage of sports equipment.
Enforce rules and safety procedures to prevent injuries.

Extracurricular Activities & Coaching:
Organize and supervise sports events, competitions, and field trips.
Coach school sports teams and encourage student participation in athletics.

Collaboration & Communication:
Work with other teachers and school staff to integrate physical education with other subjects.
Communicate with parents regarding student progress and participation.
Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.

Health & Wellness Promotion:
Educate students on nutrition, personal hygiene, and mental well-being.
Promote lifelong fitness habits and the importance of an active lifestyle.
